We’re all driven by our emotions. Our brain is wired for emotions first. Our emotions then drive our behaviour. The “soft stuff”, often challenging to define in words, frequently harder to talk about. Research and experience repeatedly confirm, the power of how we feel in the workplace is not to be underestimated.
Introducing the Emotional Culture Deck
The Emotional Culture Deck is an inventive tool designed to delve into the intricate fabric of organizational culture. It offers a playful yet profound method to decipher the emotional landscape within teams and companies. By tapping into the collective emotional intelligence of a group, it unveils insights that are often overlooked or left unspoken.
How Transformation Tools Facilitate Challenging Conversations
I discovered Riders & Elephants in August of 2020. As a leader in change myself, I could immediately see this tool would be key in helping leaders and their teams through change transformations in business. This fun and simple game provides insight into business culture. It provides a means to build bridges and important segues into challenging conversations. I soon realized its application was far broader than just change. There were multiple areas where this could make an impact in any workplace. It’s about bringing humanity into our work. Simple and very powerful. At last count 500,000 people in 65+ countries are using this innovative, thought provoking and impactful tool.

Real-World Impact
I’m excited to continue working with my clients before, during and after their change transformation programs and seeing the impact The Emotional Culture Deck continues to make. I’ve had the opportunity to work with multiple leaders and their teams using this game in sectors that include retail, insurance, real estate, digital, manufacturing, health care and many more. Whether a workshop with a team or 1:1 with a leader, the applicability is broad, and the learnings run deep. A few words here from former workshop participants.
“I went in with somewhat unknowns and came out feeling invigorated as a leader to see just how well I could help my team as well as myself. So many learnings that I just don’t think I would have had if not for this game.”
“As a leader, you want to know how your team feels about working here. I don’t think you’ll ever get that really from a survey. This game is better than a survey. It provides a much more genuine outcome. I could tell the team felt safer to share.”
Certified as one of only two Emotional Culture Deck Consultants in Canada, I’m delighted to share the benefits of this gamification tool with more and more business leaders and their teams across Canada as a Senior Advisor with Osborne Interim Management.
