The Ag Advisory Council is excited to welcome John Copithorne to its team.
John is a fourth-generation rancher from Cochrane, Alberta, and a respected voice in Western Canada’s ranching community. He brings decades of lived experience in livestock production, land management, and environmental stewardship, along with a deep commitment to preserving Western heritage and advancing sustainable agriculture.
John’s work has supported food security, youth education, and conservation across the region. He is a passionate advocate for traceability, responsible grazing, and water management, and he continues to play a leadership role in conversations around parkland stewardship and the future of working landscapes.
